  • Vipers SC 2-0 Police FC

Vipers secure a 2-0 victory against Kenya’s Police FC in an international friendly game at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, on Saturday evening.

Kenneth Kimera fired Vipers in the lead after six minutes. The youngster was set up by Allan Okello before firing the ball past Police’s custodian Patrick Matasi.

Four minutes later, Police launched a counterattack through Kenneth Maguna, who set up on running Alfred Leku.

The former Vipers forward laid a great ball to David Okoth, whose effort was thwarted by Vipers custodian Jack Komech.

Muguna once again set up Leku but the forward’s diving header put the ball off target with an empty net at his disposal.

Karim Watambala found himself in a great position to double Vipers’ lead but his direct effort was palmed away by the Police’s custodian.

Jafari Owiti’s powerful effort went inches above the frame as Vipers survived another scare in front of the goal.

Vipers made a double change at the start of the second stanza, bringing on Patrick Mbowa and Derrick Ndahiro for Okello and Watambala.

Vipers’ pace and rhythm greatly fell down in the second half since most bodies were tired after a hard press in the opening game.

In the last minute of the game, Gusto Mulongo doubled Vipers’ lead thanks to Nicholas Wadada’s brilliant assist, and the fans went on their feet.
