Ugandan Rower, Kathleen Noble, is set to retire after Friday’s race and shift attention to other life’s demands.

Noble finished second in the semifinal E/F 2, thus confirming her name in the final of the repechage slated for Friday.

Shortly after the race, the rower confirmed that Friday’s race will crown her rowing journey as her life takes a swift shift.

“Friday is my last race, and then I’m out. I want to move on to new challenges of life, I want to start a family, I want to focus on my career and I want to pass the baton to someone else, so I’m very happy to kind of wrap up this season and move on to something else,” Noble revealed.

Noble’s latest revelation has left the nation in shock, wondering why she chose to crown her rowing career, yet she still had a lot to offer as well as fight for.

Noble has been part of two successive Olympics, and surely it’s clear that she has been the face of the sport that is given less attention in Uganda.

She now shifts attention to Friday’s race so that she can call it quits with the best show.

“I have some days to rest before the final on Friday. I have more time to recover and rest so that I’m fresher for Friday.”

“But it is good to perform in front of a wonderful crowd who kept on cheering from about 1000 meters. I have enjoyed Paris a lot, it is beautiful, the village has great,” she concluded.
