FUFA Women Super League
- Kawempe Muslim 2-0 Kampala Queens
Kawempe Muslim have clinched the 2023/24 FUFA Women Super League title.
Kawempe Muslim managed to clinch the title after the 2-0 victory against Kampala Queens at the Kawempe Muslim playground on Sunday.
It was a great moment as the Valley Warriors lifted their fifth League title in front of their loud home crowd.
Agnes Nabukenya and Allen Nassazi scored the two goals as Kawempe Muslim ended the 2023/24 campaign on a high.
Catherine Nagadya has a clear chance to fire the visitors ahead but her ground effort was thwarted away by goalkeeper Juliet Adeke for a corner kick.
It was a seesaw affair as both sides kept switching gears though the game hardly met the desired flair in the first half.
Coming from the break, the hosts got into the second gear and the visitors were pegged on the back foot.
Nabukenya broke the deadlock in the 67th minute with a powerful free-kick as the Valley Warriors went into celebrations.
In the final minutes, Nassazi doubled Kawempe’s lead with a header leaving Kampala Queens custodian Daisy Nakaziro helpless.
The victory takes Kawempe Muslim to 40 points while Kampala Queens remained second with 36 points.
