Vipers secure a 2-0 victory against Wakiso Giants in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakiso on Thursday.
Allan Okello and Milton Karisa were on the scoresheet as Vipers secured maximum points on the day.
Vipers started on the front foot seeking an early goal but were not lethal enough in the final third of the pitch.
In the 16th minute, Allan Okello was set up by Karim Watambala, but he did a lot, and he was closed up by Wakiso Giants defender Shaibu Mtita.
Two minutes later, Okello’s curling freekickick was blocked by Mtita as he was on the way in the back of the net.
In the 26th minute, Milton Karisa beat custodian James Alitho but failed the forward was not quick enough to guide the ball in the net.
At half an hour mark, Wakiso Giants nearly broke the deadlock through Musa Segujja, but his effort was collected by goalkeeper Denis Kiggundu.
In the 33rd minute, Alitho tripped Karisa in the area, and the referee awarded the visitors a penalty.
Okello stepped up and set Alitho the wrong way from the 12-yard mark to give Vipers the lead in the 34th minute.
Karisa doubled Vipers’ lead in the 62nd minute with a simple touch after being set up by Yunus Sentamu.
The victory takes Vipers on the log summit with 10 points after playing five games in the ongoing campaign.
