It’s goalless between Uganda Cranes and Botswana after the opening forty-five minutes of the Fifa World Cup Qualifier at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
The Cranes have created a few goal-scoring chances but haven’t converted any.
Travis Mutyaba who has sparkled throughout the half played Fahad Bayo through but it was too heavy and the Botswana keeper was quick off the line to gather.
A couple of minutes later, Bayo headed Steven Mukwala’s cross from the left over the bar as the Cranes continued to press for an early goal.
Elvis Bwomono’s effort was sent into the side netting for a corner that Ronald Ssekiganda headed over from Allan Okello.
Bayo missed the biggest chance of the first half as he headed wide Okello’s telling delivery in the 30th minute of the game.
Ssekiganda tested the goalkeeper with a shot from just outside the area in the 35th minute.
There’s a lot to play for in the second half.
