Kawempe Muslim Secondary School qualified for the CAF Africa Schools Football Championship semifinals after securing two wins and a draw in the group stages of the ongoing tournament.
Uganda’s representative started slow with a one-all draw against South Africa at the Amaani Stadium in Zanzibar in the opening game.
Shadia Nabirye put Uganda ahead in the fourth minute and held on to complete the first stanza with their heads high.
However, South Africa levelled matters through Rithabile Molefe who calmly converted from the spot as either side picked a point out of the duel.
In the second game of the campaign, Uganda secured a well deserved 2-0 victory against Togo to lighten up their chances of qualification to the knockout stage.
Nabirye and Cynthia Kirenga were on target to ensure that Kawempe Muslim bag maximum points in the one sided encounter.
In the final group game, Kawempe Muslim registered a hard earned 2-0 victory against Gambia thus sealing a spot in the last four sides of the tournament.
It was a tight duel that ended goalless at the eterval as the Ugandan side carried the fight into the second stanza of the game.
Nabawanuka Berinda Hope broke the deadlock before Nabirye sealed maximum points for Kawempe Muslim in the closely contested game.
