JKL Lady Dolphins 68-70 JT Lady Jaguars
The JT Lady Jaguars extended their semifinal series against the JKL Lady Dolphins on Wednesday, with a thrilling 70-68 victory at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
The hard-fought win prevented a sweep by the Lady Dolphins and set up a crucial Game Four.
The Lady Jaguars started the game strong, building a six-point (18-12) lead by the end of the first quarter.
However, the Lady Dolphins rallied in the second period, cutting the deficit to just four points (35-31) at halftime.
The momentum shifted back in favour of the Lady Jaguars in the third quarter as they outscored the Lady Dolphins to regain a five-point (53-48) advantage heading into the final frame.
Despite a late surge from the Lady Dolphins, the Lady Jaguars held on for the sweet victory.
Rhoda Nagitta (14 points), Mercy Batamuliza (14 points), and Sarah Ageno (13 points) led the Lady Jaguars’ scoring attack in double digits.
Batamuliza also dominated the boards, pulling down 19 rebounds to give her team a significant advantage in possession.
Evelyn Nakiyingi paced the Lady Dolphins with 19 points, but it was not enough to prevent the upset.
The victory keeps the Lady Jaguars’ championship hopes alive, as they now look to even the series and force a decisive Game Five.
